Meet your guide Walt Carr

Walt loves all things water and canyons, from the Grand Canyon (first rafting trip in 1986 – rookie bow paddler on a 14′ River Rider at 44,000 cfs) to the emerald beauty of Fossil Creek (first float for 2021 in a packraft at 44 cfs).

He was blessed to be led into whitewater boating by some very experienced and patient guides, and over the years has become a guide who loves to share knowledge and experiences with others.
Guiding paddle boats with Salt River Rafting on his home river, rowing and paddling teens with Grand Canyon Youth on the Colorado and San Juan, and sharing many first time IK experiences with OAC Tours on the Verde, plus joining private trips on many other western rivers lets him enjoy time on the water and in remote canyons as often as possible.  Exploring desert rivers in a packraft is his newest waterborne joy.
Walt also loves to share Native American flute improvisations with boating friends new and old.

Meet your guide Daniel DiStefano

Hello!  My name is Dan, and I was born in San Diego, CA.  Since birth, I have lived in, on or near water of all sorts.  If it involves the ocean, a lake or a river, I probably love doing it!  In 2015, I bolted from the big city, and settled in Clarkdale, AZ where I have been guiding on the Verde River ever since.  I am an advocate for sustainability of our beautiful river, as a sitting board member at One For The Verde.  I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the area with you!

Meet your guide Craig Walker

Craig’s calm demeanor and natural ability to relate will put you right at ease.  HIs ability to get you easily chatting about life and events does not overshadow his expertise at leading experiences in the great outdoors.  A retired youth pastor that spent decades leading youth to get closer to one another while building their faith in the outdoors, he is a treasure to host tours with at OAC. From hiking Havasupi, to river campouts to spelunking about, Craig has guided many groups, youth and tours to hike, kayak, rappel and cave all around Arizona and beyond.  Craig has a special fondness for the water, but if it is in nature, chances are it is his passion.  He can’t wait to share the outdoors with you.
